About the Scholarship

The Friends of the W. Anne Gibson Esmond Station Library are proud to announce the inaugural W. Anne Gibson Service Scholarship, an award for high school seniors who are making a difference in their community through service. This scholarship, offered at $500, honors the legacy of W. Anne Gibson, the dedicated namesake of our library. Anne believes in the power of community and has spent her life serving others and giving back to the place she calls home in Vail, Arizona.

Our Partner

The Friends of the W. Anne Gibson-Esmond Station Library  partner with the Vail School District Foundation. Eligible seniors will apply through the Vail School District Foundation available on the downloadable form at the bottom of this page. 

who should apply

Our desire is to recognize service work, grade point average and extracurricular activities, as well as to assess the need for financial assistance. We are looking for students who embody Anne's spirit of service and have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of those around them, whether through volunteering, leading community projects, or acts of kindness. If you are a high school senior who carries a GPA of 3.0 or higher, is in need of financial assistance and has made a positive impact through service, we encourage you to apply and share your story with us.

Application Opens: February 1, 2026

Application Deadline:  March 15, 2026

Scholarships Announced: April 2026

Anne Gibson has written and continues to write remarkable chapters of service and leadership. Your contribution supports a graduating high school senior  in the Vail Unified School District who is  turning pages, leading with heart, and writing their own story of community impact; just like Anne.
